Backgrounds & Effects

On the pre-join screen, click Backgrounds and effects to configure a virtual background for your video feed.

Available backgrounds

You can use:

  • Blur — blur your real background while keeping your face visible
  • Custom image — set any image as your background

Uploading backgrounds

If your instance allows it, you can upload your own background images:

  • Maximum file size and number of uploads are set by the administrator
  • Uploaded images are stored per user

Applying a background

  1. Go to the pre-join screen before entering a meeting
  2. Click Backgrounds and effects
  3. Select your preferred background
  4. Your camera preview updates to show the effect
  5. Click Join to enter with the background applied

Limitations

  • Background effects require browser access to the camera
  • The feature must be enabled by the instance administrator
  • Custom background uploads may be disabled on some deployments
